Course on doing Knockouts
by Master Art Mason on Sep.06, 2010, under Kyusho Jitsu
This was an idea that came to me the other day. If I had a course, that taught Knockouts, how many people would be interested? The idea is relatively simple. Like the online course you sign up and pay a monthly tuition. You would receive videos and support on doing knockout as demonstrations for your students, classes etc.
Perhaps call it should be called a coaching group? It would be for people with pressure point knowledge, not beginners to the system. I would not be teaching principles, just a hit here and there using this stance etc. Same I could critique your ideas and help with problems.
This is just a rough outline, more information will become available as time goes on. Please take the poll below to give me some idea of the interest for this course!

Pressure Point Study Aids
by Master Art Mason on Sep.02, 2010, under Kyusho Jitsu
Learning something like Kyusho can be a challenge. Especially in the novice year of study there is so much information that must be memorized and understood. I can recall my first year of study very well! I had notes upon notes upon notes.
After a few years of compiling notes I sat down and rewrote everything into one book. My students refer to it as the holy book of kyusho. We joke about me leaving it in my will to the best kyusho student in the school. It is a nice book, leather bound with gold leaf paper. It contains pretty much everything I have learned plus many things I figured out for myself.
This book was were our Novice Pressure Point Workbook and our Advanced Pressure Point Wookbook came from. Both book have received rave reviews from martial artist all over the world!
But this also caused me to become interested in making learning the pressure point system much more student friendly. So we have designed some great new study aids, with more on the table coming soon!
So now we have several different products, the first was the Kyusho Essential Study Chart. This one is indispensable for any Kyusho Student, beginner or advanced. The next are the Meridian Charts, mapping out the path of the merdians and the points. All sell in PDF format for easy printing.
Currently in the works are some aids for advanced students, these will include the Diural Cycle and Alarm Points. Keep your eyes on this blog for more information as it comes available.
Pressure Point Seminars
by Master Art Mason on Sep.01, 2010, under Kyusho Jitsu
What are the advantage to hosting a pressure point seminar at your club, Dojo or martial art studio/school? Well first, it is a great way to motivate your adult students! One of the challenges school owner have is keeping things fresh and keeping the motivation levels of their students high!
A second reason? Well, in our rough economy it is a great way to infuse some extra cash into our schools! Now this is totally up to you. It all depends on how much you want to promote your event!
Here is a short video segment from a pressure point seminar. You can have a copy of the entire video in you follow this link! Also to find out more about our Pressure Point Seminars read the FAQ at our Kyusho Canada Website.
Pressure Point Knockout on Spleen 11
by Master Art Mason on Aug.28, 2010, under Kyusho Jitsu
Last night I did a ‘pre-college’ which was recorded for promotional reasons. Now to me the study of pressure points goes far beyond the idea of a simple knockout. While I have done hundreds of knockouts over time, I rarely ever use them as the focus for the study.
Last night we focused on using one of the Principle of Kyusho to become effective. That principle was the Cycle of Destruction. However at the end of the class I did a very simple knockout on leg point Spleen 11 to show power of these principles. Below is that video.
If you have any questions please post them in the comment section and I will be happy to answer them as time permits. Also if you would like more information on our Pressure Point products and courses follow this link.

Organizing your Pressure Point Study
by Master Art Mason on Aug.24, 2010, under Kyusho Jitsu
I have been studying Pressure Points under Grand Master Steve Stewart for almost 9 years now. In the beginning I would travel monthly to see him in London Ontario for 3 hour monthly sessions. There was a lot of information to learn and digest. At first this was very challenging, then we developed systems to do the work for us.
Some of the products we offer here at Kyusho Jitsu Canada are a result of those system. When I first wrote my Novice Kyusho Jitsu Workbook it was simply to organize my learning so I could remember and recall the information as needed. Now today we have 2 eBook, with another on the way, as well as charts to help you learn and organize your pressure point knowledge.

Our Student Support Services
by Master Art Mason on Aug.16, 2010, under Kyusho Jitsu
I wanted to take a moment today to write about support for Kyusho (Pressure Point) Students. Any of our products, the Home Study Course, or the Online Course come with full support to have your questioned answered. But I think I need to explain how this support works a little better.
Our support is done throught the use of EMAIL or Blackberry Messenger. You are free to email me anytime with your questions and I will do my best to answer in a timely fashion, usually with a few hours, and rarely more than 24 hours. The same goes for Blackberry Messenger.
I run 2 different Kyusho Courses at my school. This a Novice Course and an Advanced Course. Support for my in Dojo students basically works the same, or they can make an appointment to talk with me in person. I never do phone support! I simply do not have the time to do so.
I was asked recently about doing lessons on Skype, again this is a time thing as I personally never do private lessons. My typical day will begin at 6:00am and end about 10:00pm.
I hope everyone understands that each student is very important to me and I will do my very best to help you in as timely a manner as possible!
Good luck to all in your studies.
